The NHL drinking game
Pick the NHL game you are watching, add the people in the room, and everyone is dealt five cards. Each card names something that can happen on the broadcast. When it does, the card is tapped and whoever holds it drinks.

How the rules work
Cheering. When the other team scores, makes a big save, lands a big hit, blocks a shot or gets a breakaway, everyone backing the losing side drinks. Table rules. Everyone sips at every commercial break, drinks 2 for a goal review, drinks 3 at each intermission and for every fight, and takes a shot for overtime or a shootout. Power-play cards. Every power play gets a shared card, like "Power-play goal: the other side's fans drink 3." Tap who went on the power play, then how it ended. Period props. A quick question at puck drop and after the 1st and 2nd periods, like "Who scores next?" Everyone guesses, and wrong guesses take 3 drinks.
